This Privacy Policy explains how Boydan (operated by Yachtingverse Technologies Ltd) collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes your personal data when you use our mobile app, websites, and related services (collectively referred to as “Consumer Services”).
This Privacy Policy applies to individual users using Boydan in their personal, familial, or household capacity and not to our enterprise or business clients. For commercial and enterprise services, a separate privacy notice applies.
1. Information We Collect

- Account Information: Name, username, email address, age (minimum 18), profile photo, biography, location.
- Usage Data: App usage details, check-ins, ratings, story views, likes, diamonds used/sent, and other interactions.
- Location Information: With your consent, we collect precise location data for check-in and matching purposes.
- Device Information: Device identifiers, operating system, IP address, app version.
- Payment and Diamond Transactions: Information related to purchases and virtual currency (Diamonds), which are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Voluntary Information: Feedback, support queries, and optional profile verification content (e.g., selfies).

The personal data collected by Boydan depends on how you interact with our Consumer Services, and comes from three main sources:
Data You Choose to Provide: We collect personal data when you:
- Create an account or fill in your profile,
- Provide consent or opt-in to sharing geolocation or contact data,
- Upload content or interact with the app’s features,
- Contact us for support or feedback.
Data Automatically Collected: We automatically collect data about how you interact with our services through cookies, device sensors, and similar technologies. This includes:
- Your interaction history,
- Device and session data,

Data From Third Parties: We may receive data from the following sources:
- Affiliates and Group Companies – Companies under common ownership with Yachtingverse.
- Business Partners and Developers – Entities using Boydan SDKs/APIs or partnering in location-based services.
- Data Brokers and Ad Networks – Providers of demographic, behavioral, and geolocation data.
- Social Media Platforms – If you connect a Boydan profile to Facebook or another service, we may receive account information depending on your settings.

- Verifying your identity where necessary.
b. Personalization & User Discovery
To personalize your Boydan experience based on:
- Your profile data, app activity, and precise geolocation;
- Suggestions of nearby venues or people to connect with;
- Optional access to your contact list for social discovery (e.g., finding friends on Boydan);
- Personalizing content, stories, and local recommendations.
c. Business Operations
To support internal operations and decision-making, such as:
- Service optimization and performance measurement;
- User analytics, engagement tracking, and behavioral analysis;
- Business reporting, auditing, and strategic planning.
d. Communication
To contact you with:
- Updates about your account or Boydan features;
- Service announcements, changes to our Terms or Privacy Policy;
- Customer service replies or support-related communications;
- Notices regarding corporate changes (e.g., mergers or acquisitions).
e. Marketing & Advertising
To provide you with:
- In-app promotions tailored to your activity and preferences;
- Location-aware suggestions and sponsored content;
- Advertising based on your inferred interests and geolocation;
- Anonymous or aggregated reporting to our advertising partners.
f. Rewards, Contests & Engagement Programs

- Diamond-based rewards and in-app incentives;

g. Events & Check-in Systems

- Use precise geolocation to create check-ins and “Visits” at venues;
- Build “Proximity” alerts to notify you when you’re near places of interest;
- Group user interests into “Audiences” for targeted content or advertising;
- Provide aggregated, de-identified insights to partners or venue operators.
j. Security & Fraud Prevention
To ensure platform safety by:
- Detecting unusual behavior or suspicious activity;
- Preventing account takeovers, spamming, or fake check-ins;
- Investigating and responding to violations of our Terms of Use.
k. Protection of Rights & Compliance
To protect Boydan, its users, and the public, including:
- Enforcing our policies and terms;
- Responding to legal obligations, law enforcement inquiries, or subpoenas;
- Preventing fraud, abuse, harassment, or illegal activities.
l. Corporate Events & Data Sharing
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or company restructuring, your data may be:

- Allow third-party advertising networks to show ads tailored to your interests across different websites and apps.

4. Your Privacy Choices – Global and Türkiye
You can learn how to exercise your privacy choices here. These choices (and rights, depending upon the applicable law), in summary include:
- Data Access, Copies or Transfer: You may request access to or copies of the personal data we have about you (including for transfer purposes), together with details about how we collect, use, disclose or sell your personal data. In some cases, we may only provide access to the categories of personal data that we collect, use, disclose and sell.
- Data Correction and Deletion: You may ask us to update or correct any inaccurate personal data or to delete any personal data that we may hold about you.
- Opting Out of Sales, Sharing for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising, and Processing for Targeted Advertising: You may opt-out of the sale of your personal data, the sharing of your personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes, and the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising.

5. International Data Transfers
To provide Boydan’s Consumer Services globally, including to users residing in Türkiye, it may be necessary to transfer your personal data to countries outside of your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection standards. In such cases, Boydan will take steps to ensure adequate safeguards are in place in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
By using Boydan, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your data in countries including but not limited to the United States, the United Kingdom, and Türkiye.
Boydan adheres to data transfer mechanisms recognized by the European Union and complies with the relevant obligations under the EU-US, UK-US, and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks established by the U.S. Department of Commerce. These frameworks govern the collection, use, and retention of personal data transferred from the EU, UK, and Switzerland to the U.S.

6. Disclosing Your Personal Data
We may disclose the categories of personal data we process about you (as described in the “At A Glance” section) to third parties as follows:
- With Your Consent or Direction: We share personal data with third parties when you instruct us to do so, such as when you authorize friends to see your data or make it publicly visible (e.g., profile photo, check-ins, user interactions). You control this visibility in the settings within the Boydan app.
- To Our Affiliates: Your data may be disclosed to affiliates of Yachtingverse Technologies Ltd for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.
- To Service Providers and Contractors: We may share your data with service providers that assist with hosting, IT, analytics, customer support, marketing, and similar functions. Some service providers may be located outside your home country, including in the U.S., UK, or Türkiye.
- To Business Partners, Developers & Enterprise Clients: Boydan may disclose data, such as anonymized and aggregated visit patterns, to partners (e.g., transit agencies, retail clients, city planners) for insights, analytics, targeted advertising, and research. These disclosures may qualify as a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under certain laws.
- To Advertising Partners: We may disclose data to ad networks, social media companies, or third-party advertisers to enable personalized and interest-based advertising across platforms. This may also be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal data under applicable regulations.
- For Legal Compliance & Rights Protection: We may disclose personal data to legal authorities or other third parties when required by law, to enforce our rights, protect users, or respond to government requests (e.g., to law enforcement, national security, or fraud prevention).
- In Corporate Transactions: We may disclose data as part of a corporate transaction (e.g., merger, acquisition, asset transfer, restructuring, or bankruptcy).

7. How We Secure & Retain Your Personal Data
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data we obtain through the Consumer Services against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or use. However, no system is entirely secure, and the internet carries inherent security risks. Boydan cannot guarantee the complete security of your personal data.
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, including to satisfy legal, regulatory, accounting, or reporting obligations. In determining the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes of processing, alternative means to fulfill those purposes, and applicable legal requirements.
8. About Precise Geolocation Data
Boydan uses precise geolocation data to enable core features such as check-ins, nearby user discovery, and personalized venue suggestions. This data is collected through your device’s location services, sensors, and contextual signals to enhance your experience.
Precise location data is sensitive. Boydan commits to using such data responsibly and ethically. We do not use or permit use, sale, or sharing of geolocation data for tracking users to sensitive locations, including:
- Religious places of worship
- Correctional facilities
- LGBTQ+ identification or related locations
- Locations involving sexual content or adult material
- Venues primarily serving children under 16
- Domestic abuse and rape crisis shelters
- Homeless shelters or halfway houses
- Addiction treatment centers
- Facilities focused on sensitive medical care (e.g., HIV/AIDS, mental health, abortion clinics)
- Refugee and immigration services
- Debt relief, credit repair, or payday loan providers
- Political rallies, protests, or demonstrations during active events
- Military installations
Boydan adheres to enhanced privacy standards and will not correlate or link user profiles with visits to any of the above sensitive locations.

Boydan participates in the following organizations and programs:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): Boydan adheres to the DAA’s Self-Regulatory Principles and participates in the Your AdChoices program to enable easier opt-out from digital advertising.
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): As a member of NAI, Boydan complies with the NAI Privacy Principles and the Precise Location Solution Provider Enhanced Standards.
- EU/UK/Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework: Boydan’s data privacy practices follow the Data Privacy Framework Principles including Notice, Choice, Accountability for Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation, Access, and Recourse, Enforcement and Liability. 10. Children’s Privacy
Our Consumer Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data online from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from someone under 18 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
